Rough Cut Feedback
This time around, I decided to film my rough cut feedback and compile a video of my audience reacting to it. This helped me as I got to see their genuine reactions to the video and I got more in-depth answers than I would have gotten from a questionnaire.
In the first few questions, I focused on seeing how they interpreted the video, asking them what genre they thought it was and if they saw a narrative. Everyone interpreted both the video and the genre successfully.
Afterwards, I asked them about the quality of the video which gave a surprisingly positive feedback, with the main problem being the lip syncing.
At the end of the interview, I asked them about their likes, dislikes and any notes they had about the video. The main favourites were the lighting, colours in the video and the editing (especially the double exposure transition). The problems included the slow pace of the video, the audio of the conversation and the missmatched lip syncing. In terms of notes, I got told to adjust the contrast of the studio scenes, as they looked too bland and washed out, as well as to fix the audio.
