The Making of The Website
The website I used to create my artist website was Wix. As I have worked with it briefly, I wasn't familiar with the software, so I watched a YouTube tutorial to get it started.
The first page I worked on was the home page. This is where I added the header image, along with the artist logo on top of it. As I wanted it to stay on each page and move as the audience scrolls through, I froze it.
After this, I added a small biography section, along with a picture of Caleo performing, an artist introductory video - to present her to the audience and a 'contact me' section, where the audience would be able to reach the artist.
The next step was adding the tabs and the social media links. Wix provided me with a simple tool where I was able to add the links to the social media profiles I had made for Caleo and choose the style of the icon that would represent each social media.
For my next page I had to design my own merch and create a page, where the audience can easily access it. I looked online for templates of tshirts, hoodies and hats, added the logos that I wanted (Caleo logo, Tour Logo and Havana logo) and changed the saturation to get different colours.
After posting each product, I put size options, clour options and sorted them out into collections.
I also included a merch summary on the home page
After completing the merch page, I created the news page, adding announcements and different news related to the artist.
To promote the song when first released, I also created a Lyric Video as a sneak peek of the song, which I noticed many artists do. I posted this on the artist social media and on the website as an announcement.
The next page I created was the tour page, where I used text boxes to add the dates, linking the 'tickets' buttons to a Ticketmaster link. I split them into 3 part, making the first part yellow, the second orange and the third- red.
As every artist website features a music page, I added one, listing Caleo's song, including a web player, download links and the picture of the single.
The last page was the gallery, where I put all the videos featured in the website, as well as a few more images of the artist.
